CrystalOrb publishes books that help a twenty-first century American audience learn or develop skills that will help them personally or professionally. We are always pleased to review proposals and manuscripts that align with this focus.

Submission Guidelines

Here are some guidelines to keep in mind when preparing your material:

CrystalOrb deals only with nonfiction. We do not publish fiction or poetry.
We accept for consideration book proposals and finished or partial manuscripts. We will also consider previously published books to which you own the rights.
Proofread carefully. Show us your best writing effort, because we’ll make our decision based on what we read.
Include a brief marketing plan, with a description of your potential audience, a list of similar books, and what your book offers that sets it apart. (We really can’t overstate the importance of this often-overlooked step; thousands of books published each year fail to earn back their advance.)

It will take us 4-6 weeks on average to review your submission; however, in some cases, it may take longer. You are welcome to follow up by email if you have not heard back from us within 8 weeks.
You are welcome to submit your book to other publishers during the process.

What topics might be a fit for CrystalOrb?

Many topics fit into the scope of our interest. Our first project was a travel handbook. We’ve considered career guides, books on faith, how-to books for actors, and plenty of other diverse concepts.

Three things matter to us: that the idea be profitable; that you be passionate about and qualified to write on the subject; and that you have a plan for helping to promote your book. If you think that your idea may be a good fit with what we’re trying to do, we encourage you to submit a proposal or manuscript for consideration.
